Privacy policy
Last updated 10 September 2026
Chapbook is operated by chapbook pvt ltd, AKB Chrome, Zamin Pallavaram, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. If anything here is unclear, write to support@chapbook.co.in and we will answer.
Information we collect
- Account details you give us: your name, email address, and organization name.
- Content you create in Chapbook: drafts, scheduled posts, and published posts.
- Connection data from platforms you link, including access tokens, the identifiers of the organization pages you administer, and the posts and engagement metrics associated with those pages.
- Basic usage and diagnostic logs: pages loaded, actions taken, errors encountered, IP address, and browser type.
How we use it
- To generate draft suggestions and channel-specific variants at your request.
- To publish posts you have approved to the pages you have connected.
- To show you engagement figures for posts published through Chapbook.
- To keep the service secure, diagnose faults, and prevent abuse.
- To contact you about your account or material changes to the service.
We do not sell your information. We do not use your content or your organization's data to train machine learning models.
LinkedIn data
When you connect a LinkedIn organization page, Chapbook uses the LinkedIn Community Management API under permissions you explicitly grant. We request only what the product needs:
- Verification of which organization pages you administer, so we can show the correct list and prevent publishing where you lack rights.
- The ability to create posts on those organization pages, used only when you publish or when a post you scheduled comes due.
- Read access to posts on those pages and their engagement metrics, so we can report performance.
Chapbook does not access member profiles beyond the basic identity of the signed-in user, connections, private messages, or your LinkedIn feed. We store LinkedIn access tokens encrypted at rest and use them only to carry out actions you have initiated. We retain LinkedIn-sourced content and metrics only while your page connection is active. Revoking access in Chapbook or in your LinkedIn settings causes us to delete the stored tokens and associated cached data within 30 days. Our use of LinkedIn data complies with the LinkedIn API Terms of Use.
Third-party processors
We share data with a small number of vendors who process it on our behalf: cloud hosting, database and storage providers, an email delivery service, and the model providers whose systems generate draft text. These vendors are bound by contract to use the data solely to provide their service to us.
Retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Drafts and published post records are kept until you delete them or close your account. Diagnostic logs are kept for 90 days. After account closure we delete or anonymize your data within 30 days, except where we must retain records to meet a legal obligation.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest. Access tokens are stored encrypted with keys held separately from the database. Access to production systems is restricted to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify affected users without undue delay if a breach affects their data.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or stop processing it. You can disconnect any linked page at any time from inside Chapbook. To make a request, write to support@chapbook.co.in. We will respond within 30 days.
Children
Chapbook is a business tool and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we will email you and update the date at the top before the change takes effect.
